Hi Friends! Today I am so excited to share simple tips on organizing a linen closet. With purchasing a new house, I feel the need to purge A LOT of items that we’ve kept on to. This is primarily because Ava is now starting to crawl (and almost walk, eek!!) all over the house. She has mastered opening doors, so I have to be super careful about what we leave on the floor and in her reach. Kohl’s is a one-stop shop for cute home essentials at amazing prices. Kohl’s is having their White Sale from 8/22 through 9/3 and the deals are TOO GOOD to pass up including brands like Mohawk, Big One, Columbia, Serta!
Tip if you have kids: Buy online and pick up in stores. You’re welcome 🙂
First, I took everything out. EVERYTHING. You don’t realize how much trash you have until it’s all dumped out and you’re like “when did I get this?!”, “is this expired?”….yeah, I had several things…oops.
Once everything was out, I started staggering my bins. This helps hide all of the extra “stuff” that you just have to have. Nothing screams “unorganized” like a half pack of open razors or small hair ties all over the place. From there, I always put my pillows up top. With this Houston heat, my current favorites are these Serta Cooling Magic Gel pillows. Another option is The Big One 2-Pack Memory Foam pillows which are currently on sale for $27.99.
The third step is towels. I’m in love with crisp white towels and these bath towels and these hand towels are the ones I picked up. They come in 13 colors, so there is a color for whatever color scheme your bathroom is.
I always keep an extra set of sheets, because, with a baby, you never know when an accident is bound to happen. We are in the process of switching our bedding up, so I went with these Columbia Cooling Sheets in Earl Grey. I keep a few of my favorite blankets to fill up space, and then finally stock my baskets with the necessities.
