Motherhood: Month 8

Ok, total mom fail getting this up almost a week late, but hey, it’s here! I continue to be surprised at how much joy this little girl truly brings into our lives. Sean and I are always talking about how we are seriously so lucky and that she is so perfect.

This biggest change over the past month is she is crawling, pulling herself up on items, and loves to eat solids. We’re still doing purees, but incorporating a little BLW (baby led weaning) into her routine as well. She enjoys picking up foods herself, and so far, we’ve tried these cereals, avocado, tomato, eggs, and bananas. She has 4 teeth and is starting to wear mostly 6-9 month clothes, some 9 month exclusively. Her giggles still make me melt, and she LOVES staring at herself in the mirror and “playing” with the other baby.

Now…. don’t get me wrong… we are fully starting to see the sassy side of her (indeed, my child) and she is starting to be very assertive. She has learned to shake her head no (uh oh). She’s at the stage where we have to ninja when move putting her in her car seat and changing her diaper. If we don’t do it fast enough, she rolls over and has a fit when we try to buckle her in or put her pants on.  Any tips on this?

Regarding her sleep and naps, naps are sporadic, some days she has 2-3, others she only has one. We aren’t really on a schedule with them, so they sort of happen when they do. Her bedtime is pretty consist; she’ll fall asleep between 8-9 and sleep through the night. We don’t use her owlet or noise machine anymore, and the transition has been pretty seamless.

That’s all for this month! Below are some more pictures 🙂
